The telecoms battle has gone up a notch after it was revealed that Digicel had sought the Supreme Court's intervention to review a law which gives the Office of the Utilities Regulation power to reduce inter connectivity rates following the decision by LIME to offer its $1.99/2.99 mobile call rates to its customers as of June 15. According to a RJR News report, papers filed in the Supreme Court by Digicel on June 14, stated that it "will suffer substantial revenue loss and significant reputational damage." and requested the court to grant it "leave to apply for an order of prohibition preventing the OUR from enforcing the new termination rate"...which it has claimed "is not justified."
