The Police in St. Elizabeth have now launched a probe into a suspected murder-suicide in Carisbrook, St. Elizabeth yesterday afternoon. The couple have been identified as 30-yr--old Nicole Harris o/c 'Coochie' and her common-law husband Vincent Baker who is believed to be in his late 40s. The bodies of the two were discovered sometime after 3pm, by children who were sent by family members to the home. The body of Baker was found in a passageway with a liquid substance found in a bottle nearby, while Harrison's body was found in a bedroom with multiple stab wounds to her abdomen and a piece of string around her neck. The couple reportedly had an abusive relationship and were separated, however its alleged that Harrison was persuaded to meet Baker at the home as he told her he had something to tell her; when family members did not hear from Harrison a search was launched and her body found.
The Police are reporting that it has noticed an alarming increase in the number of crimes, especially murders and robberies being committed by persons and their accomplices driving rented vehicles.
The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR), has placed Barbados and Trinidad and Tobago on a watch list of countries that have failed to make the adequate copyright payments for U.S. musical compositions aired in the broadcast media.
