The emphasis on Innovation as an ongoing theme in the Budget Debate by the Prime Minister et al should be well received. It has always been my view that one of the most basic things public figures in general, and politicians in particular can do to set the tone for innovation is to signal their commitment to supporting innovation.
Guests stood bewildered as controversy laden Government Minister Richard Azan on Friday strolled confidently about at an official opening event by a private sector company in New Kingston where the news media was out in their numbers. The Prime Minister only reinforced that bewilderment after an interesting keynote address at the event. Had Mr. Azan served under the previous administration he would have long gotten the boot.
